2 Timothy 1:3-7

by Pastor Geoff on May 10, 2009

I’m sure when you were younger, you played a game called “Telephone”.  The concept is quite simple - line up a group of people, whisper a simple sentence into the first person’s ear, and then have each person pass down by whispering to the next person what they think they heard, until the last brave person says out loud what he believes the sentence is.  The results can be quite hilarious!

As we think of our mothers today, we certainly could tell of far more important things that they passed down to us.  Family traditions and stories simply cannot be given a price tag, not to mention Mom’s great recipes!  Still more important would be the legacy of faith that perhaps many of us received from our mothers.  But even if such a legacy was not passed down to us, we can still take up what we have learned from Christ and pass it on to the next generation.  As we learn of Timothy’s godly heritage today, may we also pass on to others what has been passed down to us
