Colossians 3:22 - 4:1

by Pastor Ken on November 1, 2009

George Halas, the 73-year old coach of the Chicago Bears, was asked, “When are you going to retire, Coach?”  He said, “Retire?”

“Yeah, aren’t you tired of working?” said the reporter.  Coach Halas responded, “It’s not work, if you enjoy it!”

Profound words, but maybe you’re thinking that you can’t enjoy your job.  I’m convinced it’s all a matter of perspective.  Integrating Christ into your work may take it from a bummer to a blessing.  Brother Lawrence could find greatness in being a cook, recognizing that God was his boss.  He wrote about in in “Practicing The Presence of God”.  Recognizing that Christ is with us in our work in transformational.  Try it and maybe you won’t want to retire either!
