Colossians 4:5-6

by Pastor Ken on November 15, 2009

One of the accusations levied against Christ was His getting together with tax gatherers and sinners.  They said, “This man welcomes sinners and even eats with them!” (Luke 15:2).  Christ was willing to make friends with the outsiders, people Paul tells us to connect with and make use of every opportunity.  Making friends calls for an investment and it can be challenging.  E.C. McKenzie said, “Some people make enemies instead of friends because it is less trouble.”

Even though it will make demands on us, being a friend pays tremendous dividends.  It pays in this life and in the life to come.  So, don’t be afraid, embrace the challenge, and watch God change your life and the lives of those around you.
