2 Kings 2

by Pastor Ken on December 16, 2009

Have you ever had to say good-bye to a loved spiritual leader?  There are perhaps many of us who have gone through a challenging pastoral transition.  It can be very difficult to lose a spiritual leader that had such a huge impact on your life.  We may think, “I practically grew up with this pastor.”  You remember that he was there for you when your husband was laid off.  He showed up at the hospital when your son had his accident.  And Sunday after Sunday he was ready to feed you with a message from God.  You say, “How will I go on without him?”

No doubt about it, transitions like this are difficult.  But what can we count on from God through these times?  Upon what can we be certain when circumstances like these come our way?  We’ll see in our passage what we can learn when the winds of change blow the hardest.
