1 Thessalonians 2:1-6

by Pastor Ken on December 27, 2009

In some countries you have to watch your P’s and Q’s.  In Mexico, however, when you take a bath or shower, better watch your H’s and C’s as well.  An “H”, which we would expect to be hot, on the faucet means helado - cold. A “C”, which we would expect to be cold, means caliente - hot!

For the unsuspecting, the result can be a bit surprising.  You don’t get what you expect because the basis of your expectation is misinformed.  I wonder how many expectations we have of others that are askew.  May God help us to receive others just as they are without putting unfair expectations on them of what we want them to be (Romans 14:1).
