2 Kings 7

by Pastor Ken on March 24, 2010

So how many of us have purchased a ladder and clearly seen the warning labels plastered all over them?  We often cannot possibly miss them.  And yet maybe we’re still tempted to ascend above that one step - you know the one - of which the label states, “Do not stand on or above this step.  You can lose your balance.”  We balk at it thinking, yeah right, not me, until we try to reach…reach…for that just out-of-range spot and… “Oh no!!”

Beloved, there are many places in our Bibles that you could say are plastered with warning labels, but how often do we simply choose to ignore the warnings, possibly to our own peril?  We’ll meet one such individual tonight who might have heard God’s words spoken, but unfortunately wasn’t really listening.  May we be different and actively use our ears to hear what God has to say to us.
